To the mothers who nominated your children, thank you for trusting me with their story. Their paintings will hopefully follow them throughout their lives as a moment where they were accepted and loved as is, and celebrated because of their uniqueness.
To the women with breast cancer, triple negative of all stages, and to the ones who have survived, are cleared, and to the ones who fight with all they have, thank you. My reason for this entire project was because I was shown the scars of a double mastectomy, and it was so profound, it led me here. To a place where love conquers all, and by a person who knows that your life isn't glorified but actually just like everyone else's, except you also fight cancer. Some of you single mothers, some in poverty, some have fears we will never know, but what you are is a superhero, and my respect will never waver.
And to the best friends who nominated, and the strangers who saw a post, and sent me to seek a new Warrior out, and to the people who knew I could create hope, thank you. Because of you I was able to find another person to shine light on.
To the people who donate, I'm so grateful, your contributions showed me that one person can change the world, so long as she had help with her friends and family. My father created my site and he wrote a song for my Warriors. I've had so many strangers adopt this cause, and even a few businesses that took me seriously. I am so genuinely grateful for your help.
And to God, with all his grace and mercy, gave me the gift of artwork that moves people to love themselves who gave me the idea to include the Bio, and encouraged me to step out of the 'arena' and trust him with the money, the warriors, and the impact of this project. I don't have the ability to care about what I'm doing, only to do it. And I don't know what happens next, I just go. From here, I will continue to do what I've always done, love you, respect you, honor you, trust you, and give you my life.
Thank you for the last seven months. I have so much work to do yet. If you would like to help, please donate through the website at thewarpaintproject.com or reach me through the Warpaint page @warpaintaubre
Thank you.
